A clinical pilot study on the safety and efficacy of aerosol inhalation treatment of IFN-κ plus TFF2 in patients with moderate COVID-19
Protein factor Non-randomized controlled open trial Moderate severity |
Patients | Administration in an aerosol formulation with IFN-κ was safe and resulted in clinical improvement. Sample size: 11 + 22 control. Dosage: 5 mg TFF2 and 1-2 mg (one million U/mg) IFN-κ, 3 times every 48 hours. Endpoints: The time to discharge from the hospital, improvement in CT imaging, resolution of cough, and the rate of negative viral RNA after 10 days of treatment. |

Protein factor Randomized controlled open trial Moderate severity |
Patients | Combined therapy with interferon kappa. Significantly shortened time of viral RNA negative conversion and time until improvement assessed by CT imaging. The treatment was safe. Sample size: 40 + 40 control. Dosage: 5 mg in aerosol inhalation once daily for 6 days. |
