Sulfamethoxazole
A sulfonamide antibiotic.
General information
Sulfamethoxazole is a bacteriostatic antibiotic that interferes with folic acid synthesis in susceptible bacteria (HMDB). It is used for the treatment of a variety infections, including those of the respiratory, urinary, and gastrointestinal tracts (DrugBank).
