General information

Nerium oleander extract is a defined medicinal plant extract, of which the principial component is oleandrin. It was shown to have anti-SARS-CoV-2 properties in a hamster model (Plante et al., 2021).

The extract inhibited SARS-CoV-2 in vitro and in a hamster model with low toxicity. In nasal turbinates of the treated animals, a statistically significant decrease in viral titres was observed when compared to control.
