Hypothiocyanite and Hypothiocyanite/Lactoferrin Mixture Exhibit Virucidal Activity In Vitro against SARS-CoV-2
Small molecule In vitro
Vero E6 cells; Vero cells; (rVSV) SARS-CoV-2 Spike pseudotyped virus; SARS-CoV-2 live virus (Genbank: MW000351) 3.02

Inhibited SARS-CoV-2 pseudovirus and live virus infection in a dose-dependent and time-dependent (length of pre-incubation) manner with IC50s of ca. 4.64 μM (at MOI of 0.065) and ca. 11 μM, respectively. Cytotoxicity was not observed in Vero cells. The virucidal effect of the compound was enhanced by lactoferrin.
