The compound inhibited SARS-CoV-2-induced cytopathic effect in Vero E6 cells with an IC50 of 16.30 μM. It was shown to block the interaction between Spike protein RBD and a recombinant form of human ACE2 receptor. It also impeded ACE2’s exopeptidase activity in vitro.
